SCARLET MACAW

The Scarlet Macaw is very colorful! These birds have red bodies, along with yellow, green, blue, and yellow feathers. The parrot's bill is very curved. Their front feet can claw around the front of a tree branch. Their back feet are turned and are clawed around the back of a tree branch. This is why they can sit on a small branch without any problems. The bird is usually around 35 inches long.

Scarlet Macaws live in rainforests all over the world, especially in South America. They live in the canopy, which is the layer of the rainforest that looks like broccoli. This is the layer with most of the tree tops. Scarlet macaws can fly very fast, and usually fly in small groups. Macaws like to eat different kinds of seeds, fruits, and nuts. The macaw is endangered because their homes are being destroyed and they are being captured as pets.
